Almost $1 million in sales and about 50 thousand copies sold - that was the result of SnowRunner on Steam in the first month of release
According to GameSensor’s estimation, sales of SnowRunner on Steam from Saber Interactive studio for the first month of release amounted to almost $1 million. During the same time, about 50 thousand copies of the game were sold on the platform.
SnowRunner is an off-road simulator game, which is a continuation of the well-known MudRunner. In the summer of 2018, developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment announced the sequel game as MudRunner 2, but a year later they announced a new name for the project, namely SnowRunner.
If we compare the novelty with its previous part on Steam, the revenue of SnowRunner for the first month of release is almost twice as much as the number of sales of MudRunner for the same period. However, as for the number of copies sold within the first month of release, this amount is the same for both games.
The rating of SnowRunner on Steam is 4 stars out of 5. Critics on the aggregator website Metacritic rated the PC version of the game at 82 points out of 100 possible. Players on the same site gave the novelty 6.7 points out of 10, explaining such an assessment by the presence of a large number of technical errors in the game.
Among Steam users who purchased SnowRunner on the platform, almost 50% are English-speaking. 12% of the audience speaks Russian and almost 8% speaks German. The rest of the players speak French, Polish, Chinese and other languages.
The SnowRunner game was released on Steam on May 17, 2021. The game is currently available on PC as well as the following consoles:
- Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S;
- PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5;
- Nintendo Switch.
Additionally, all players who have purchased an Xbox Game Pass subscription can try the new product.
